FracFocus disclosure news – Dec 2023

FracFocus introduced a new version (Version 4) of their system in early December. We are looking forward to seeing how a new feature, Water Source, develops in newly published disclosures. Unfortunately, they are still working out the bugs. For example, we detected over 180,000 erroneous records in the December data download. That error appears to be fixed…

  1. […] The data from those years is embedded in the pdfs that are still available from FracFocus. I have created an archive of those pdfs. My intention is to eventually scrape the data myself and compare the currently available data to that which was initially published. There are hints that the data have been changed silently. If you are interested in working with these pdfs (it is about 3Gb of files), contact me. Lists of any silent changes Open-FF detects are now included in the periodic reports of new disclosures. […]
